Get Your Exercise

Flexibility is one of those things that you can lose if you don’t lose. As you get older your body doesn’t work quite the way it did when you were younger. That’s one of the reasons it’s important to keep moving and exercising.

Another reason that physical activity is important all your life, even as you get older, is that it helps with heart and lung health. Working out each day can seriously help you stay healthier, have more energy, and just plain help you enjoy your senior years longer.

Just as important as fitness is to your lung and heart health, so too is eating the right diet. Healthy eating is actually very easy to do. Simply make good choices when you eat out and watch portions so you aren’t overeating.

Cook at home every chance you get, and make vegetables and fruit the most important parts of your diet. To keep your bones healthy, which get weaker as you age, get calcium and spend at least 15 minutes in the sun for useful vitamin D.

Have Some Fun

You don’t have to work anymore, take this free time to have some fun. Go on the vacations you’ve always dreamed up, take a fitness or art class, or just spend some time with your grandchildren. Don’t spend this time wishing you were still working, or wasting your precious time!
