- Avoid sitting or standing for long periods of time. When sitting, don’t cross your legs. Make sure that your legs are raised when you are sleeping, resting, or sitting.
- Stay physical. Participate in activities that will make your legs move and maintain your muscle tone.
- If you have a few extra pounds, lose them.
- Stay away from tight fitting clothes… especially clothes that are tight around your legs, groin, and waist.
- Stay away from high heels.
- If recommended by your doctor, wear compression stockings.
